About the big three, I introduced one bronze pilot watch from Beijing Watch Company before,I did not know Sea-gull has made a bronze watch, now I am going to show you a good-looking pilot watch from Sea-gull,it is made with bronze and has a green dial.Sea-gull is my most favorite China brand, you guys can try one or two Sea-gull watches,they are good and have almost all styles you want,from simple to complicated,some models also have a big attraction to people who love Chinese elements and stories.If I say Sea-gull is the boss in Chinese watch industry,do you agree? The Sea-gull 3015 here is a pilot watch,its design features such as crown and hands as well as lume are very similar to that of Zenith Pilot. The green color looks very nice with the bronze case, and you can also uses a green rubber band on the watch, look at the last picture, it looks very beautiful.

The watch has a big size whose diameter is up to 41mm, the case thickness is about 12mm, almost all pilots watch have the similar size, some even have a 43mm case diameter. The bronze case is brushed with a big crown that is very convenient for the wearer to operate. The case back is not bronze but made with titanium that is in matte finish, there is a small window opened on the center to display the movement. By the way, the bezel uses green sapphire crystal, the markers inside have been applied with lume material, they can emit green lume light in dark conditions.

The green dial has a simple design, its big hour markers, long hands and strong lume all enhance the readability of the dial. In dark conditions, the green lume light on the dial can last for a long time, the lettering “WR 100M” means the watch is 100m water resistant. The second hand has a section on the top that is applied with orange color that just echoes with the orange minute markers.

The watch is equipped with a ST2130 automatic movement that is independently developed by Sea-Gull Watch Company, this movement has a 28,800BPH, 28 jewels and a power reserve more than 42 hours. The black litchi veined leather band is a regular fit for this watch, while I think the green rubber band looks more beautiful on this bronze watch, if changed the hands type, I think it look more like a diver’s watch with this green rubber band.

I like this Sea-gull watch more than any other watches made by Sea-gull, whether it is casual watch or diver’s watches, all of them can not be compared with this one now, because it has become my most favorite watch. I have bought several Sea-gull watches, but none of them look that elegant like this M199S, and this one seems to be a complicated model, which combines functions of hours, minutes, small seconds, date, chronograph and moon phase. In my opinion, this watch from Sea-gull has learned the essence of the design of some Swiss watches, and shows the elegance to the max. Now you can not get this watch from Sea-gull Official website, it is sold out, I got one from my friend, he bought it in China. The watch has a classic combination in color of black and white, it is made with 316L stainless steel and fitted with a black leather band, seeing from its design in case and crown, as well as the elements on the dial, the watch has a bit of vintage style.

The watch has a large case diameter that is measured to be 41mm, not including the crown and buttons on the right, and the lugs seem to be longer than that of other watches, the whole round case is polished, with a see-through crystal back. The entire case design must refer to the design of some Swiss brand watch, I just do not remember. By the way, the satin-finished “S” on the crown looks very refined. There are several places on the watch that make it look so elegant, the onion-shaped crown is one.

The silver white dial also has several elements that make it an elegant watch. First, the rome hour markers, which are in black color and look in high contrast with the white background. The hour hand and minute hand on the center are leaf-shaped and are very slender, this is the second element that looks elegant. Third, there are two different types of patterns on the dial, the pattern on the center looks different from the circles which rome hour markers are on. The usage of different patterns on the dial also creates multi-layered visual enjoyment. The watch has a real chronograph function, the small second hand is at 9 o’clock, the subdial at 3 is for 30-minute chronograph display, because it uses a manual winding Sea-gull movement, I do not suggest you use the chrono buttons too often, or the energy will easily run out. The small dial at 12 o’clock is date display, you can adjust it by pushing the button at 10 o’clock. The arched indicator at 6 o’clock does not show real moon phase, but a display of Day & Night. Any way, I am very pleased with the dial finish and its functions.

The movement is ST1908, which has 22 jewels, 21,600BPH and about 38 hours of power reserve. I recommend you gently rotate the crown when winding the watch, usually the manual winding movement has more frail parts than those automatic movements. It is fine if you do less than 20 rotations every time when winding.

Today, the watch I will show you guys is a vintage Sea-gull watch which now you can not find on the official website of Sea-gull, but some distributors may have it in stock. I love these vintage watches from the big three from China like Sea-gull, Shanghai and Beijing, having been tired of seeing repeated designs on so many modern watches, the designs of these Chinese vintage models sometimes look more classic.

The watch has a very unique case shape, which you can hardly see on modern watches, the case is only measured to be 39mm in diameter, but it looks large because of the fat and wide lugs, the whole piece of case has an arched shape that can fit your hand in a more comfortable way, the watch will be suitable for people who usually love to wear the watches whose size is range from 38mm to 41mm. By the way, the case is about 12mm in thickness. The front of the case is polished, while it is brushed on both sides. Both crown and solid case back are screwed down, the back has a big sculpture of Sea-gull bird in polishing on a sanded background.

I think this watch will fit people with small wrist size better. The silver dial is a big selling point of the Sea-gull watch, especially the red color usage, which highlights the entire watch. The second hand on the center has a red dot on the top, which echoes with the red font in the date window set at 3 o’clock, this design also enhances the readability of the whole silver dial. The three-dimensional Sea-gull logo has a blue background, this type of logo now can be hardly found on modern Sea-gull watches, and it looks very beautiful.

It is another diver’s watch I like, the watch is from Sea-full, which is the best Chinese watch I think, I introduced a lot of Sea-gull watches before, they are my most favorite Chinese watches, if you want one diver’s watch from China, I recommend the Ocean Star from Sea-gull. Today, I will introduce another Sea-gull Ocean Star, look at the pictures below, are you very familiar with it? This blue Sea-gull watch looks like a homage of the Omega Planet Ocean, especially its blue and orange color, I do not remember which Omega Planet Ocean model now, but it is not completely copied, the dial has a different design, besides the blue, Sea-gull also offers a green model, the watch is equipped with a stainless steel bracelet, Sea-gull also offers one extra pair of nylon/rubber band is blue and orange color.

I like the orange and blue band more, it matches the watch better. The finish of the watch is ok, but unfortunately the bezel is not ceramic made, it is alloy. The case has a diameter of 44mm, a big size, most men won’t choose this size because it is too big, well, the case is not too thick, only about 12.5mm. The case does not look so strong even it has a big size, I would love it more if the crown guards are bigger.

The bezel is not ceramic, it is uni-directional rotating and has orange diving scales from 0 to 15 minutes. The bezel tooth have wide mouth design, not deep and sharp like the bezel tooth on Submariner’s bezel. The dial is blue that exactly matches with the blue color on the bezel. The dial has a high readable design, besides the strong and long-lasting lume light, the hour markers and hands have wide design so that can be applied with more lume material, even under a weak light condition, the dial still has a good readability because the high-contrast dial color of blue and orange. There is no extra GMT hand, but with an inner bezel that displays the time of the second time zone, the inner bezel can be adjusted by the button on the case at 10 o’clock.

The watch is powered by a ST2130 automatic movement that is independently developed by Sea-Gull Watch Company. The movement has 42-hour power reserve and 28 jewels, it beats 28,800 times per hour. Such type of Sea-gull movement has an inaccuracy of about 15 seconds each day. About the band, the blue nylon(outside) and orange rubber(backside) band fits the watch better. By the way, Sea-gull claims that this watch is water resistant to 200 meters.

Today, I want to introduce a new model from Sea-gull, it is ref. 6165 with a frozen dial.

Besides Parnis, Sea-gull is my most favorite Chinese watch, I have bought several timepieces from them and want to buy more in future, Sea-gull is also the Chinese brand whose watches’ design have close styles to that of Swiss watches, whether the dress watches or diver’s watches made by Sea-gull, you can always see similar designs that could be found on Swiss watches. I like diver’s watches and I have some from Sea-gull and other Chinese homage brands, but I think the best-looking diver’s watch is from Sea-gull Ocean Star, it has a good name, by the way the watches also look nice, it refers to the design of Swiss diving watches but also add their own features in the watch, that’s one important factor that makes Sea-gull more popular abroad. Today, the watch I am going to review is a new model from Ocean Star made by Sea-gull, it is white and blue color, with a special ice crystal dial, I think it will be a very nice timepiece for you to wear in a snowy weather, or wearing it when going skiing.

I introduced one Ocean Star diver’s watch before, it is a blue model, many people shown their interest and asked me the price. I like the design of crown guards, they have delicate finish of brushing and polishing, and the crown is totally under the protection of the guards.

The dial is the most unique place of the watch, it has a special texture that looks like the ice crystal, not like other diver’s watches, the lume on this watch not only appears on the hour markers and hands, but also applied on the main dial, the blue lume light looks beautiful in the dark. The dial has a very good readability, not only because of its strong lume light in the dark conditions, but also the blue and orange color usage forms a high contrast with the main white background. The inner minute-scale bezel is a little straight, the entire bezel will look better if it is a little oblique.

I am always deeply attracted by the history of Chinese watch industry, this pushes me to buy more China brand watches, there are so many amazing mechanical watches from these traditional watch factories in China like Sea-gull, Shanghai, Beijing, Chongqing and so on, some not only design nice watches, but also have fascinating history. Compared with their watches, I more love reading the stories behind these traditional watch factories. The main difference between these Chinese traditional watch factories and new rising homage brands is that the former has their own movements, and Sea-gull is one of the biggest movement suppliers in the world, while a few new homage watches still making up stories to pretend as Swiss brands to cheat customers. The Sea-gull watch I am going to review today is a special model made to pay tribute to the first vintage Dongfeng watch in history of Tianjin Watch Factory, the watch looks nice and it is the best-looking casual watches in my collection.

The Sea-gull watch has a small size that is 38mm in case diameter, this is a size I like, with a small crown, it is very comfortable to wear, and the polished case is only 12mm in thickness. It has a solid case back that has the relief of “东风” and waves in polishing finish, in a sanded background. The entire watch is polished and has arch-shaped lugs that naturally extended from the case to fit your hand in a more comfortable way, I choose the watch with a black leather band, but I could not wait to change the nylon strap on, the nylon band looks better on this watch that has a little vintage flavor.

The silver dial is under the protection of a sapphire crystal that has a arched face, the old Dongfeng watch used acrylic face, on the new model, the sapphire crystal can not only prevent scratches, but also is more clear and has a higher transparence to let you read the dial. The arched sapphire crystal face is a distinctive feature of the watch. The silver dial has simple design but it still looks beautiful to me, check the pictures, the radioactive sunray finish is fine and when you shaking the watch slowly, you will find the unique reflected light on the dial, this is really amazing design for such a Chinese watch, I saw few homage watches can do this. There is no date window. On the top of printings “ZhONGGUO TIANJIN”, there is an unique logo.

The watch is equipped with a ST16 automatic movement, which is independently developed by Sea-gull, the movement beats 21,600 times per hour and has a 36 hours power reserve, I have received it for three weeks, now the watch gains about eight seconds each day, I think this accuracy is acceptable to most people.

Sea-gull is the first brand you should think of when going to buy a Chinese watch, they are the most powerful watch manufacturer in China, also one of the few movement manufacturers. I have bought several Sea-gull watches, some are simple casual watches, some are pilot-style models and some are diver’s watches, I like them, not like most other homage watches made in China, these watches have their own designs, some have historical origins with Chinese military watches whose Chinese elements designs really attract me. Today, I want to introduce a new Sea-gull watch, this is s Pilot watch that has chronograph function, the watch is designed mainly to pay tribute to the H-6 bomber aircraft.

The watch is made with 316L stainless steel, it has a black bezel but is not made with ceramic, the red color usage on the silver dial enhances the readability of the whole dial, but also brings life to the boring stainless steel black watch. The watch is a little heavy, about 201 grams.

The case has a 44mm diameter and is measured to be 14mm in thickness, for a manual-winding watch, such case thickness is acceptable, the case is brushed, while the edge of the lugs has a smooth and mirror polishing finish that forms a high contrast with the brushed front, this gives the wearer a visual enjoyment. The screw-down crown has a “S” logo in sand finish, the other two buttons locked by screws are used to control the chronograph.

The dial looks more like silver, with delicate sun-ray finish, two small dials in black just like the two eyes of Panda. Small seconds hand works smoothly on the subdial at 9 o’clock, the subdial at 3 o’clock with a red hand is used as a 30-minute chronograph counter. Besides a polished Sea-Gull logo at 12 o’clock, there is an unique logo at 6 o’clock, above the black letterings “Chronograph”, this logo was firstly used on the Pilot chrono watch 304 that was produced by Tianjin Watch Factory, now this new Sea-Gull watch just paid a tribute to this oldest Pilot chrono watch in Chinese watch-making history. The red number “6” has a special meaning that is related to Hong 6 bomber aircraft.

The case back is see-through crystal, the beautiful machine inside is a ST1901 engine from Sea-gull, it is said that the movement is independently developed by Sea-gull itself, but I see it is very similar to another manual winding movement Venus 75. Sea-gull said the movement has a 42-hour power reserve, I have used the watch for 4 days, now it still keeps an accurate timing, will lose 7 seconds each day. I am going to buy an extra nylon band for this watch.

Sea-gull deserves your attention because they really offer high quality watches at very reasonable prices. I have several Sea-gull timepieces, they are my most favorite wrist partners when I go out with my friends, each is with the in-house Sea-gull movement, I trust their quality more than other brand watches made in China. Among all Sea-gull watches in my collection, I have diving styles, vintage pilot’s watches and regular small-second model, but that’s not enough, the most common dress watch in full stainless steel is lacked, so I decided to buy this Sea-gull watch several days ago, also to prepare the top-selling list article I am going to write soon.

I received the watch in a blue hard leather box, with a manual book and link remove tool, there is no extra leather band offered. Sea-gull offers three dial color options, black, white and blue, I chose the black one. I also like the blue dial, but I found there are too many blue watches in my collection, the black is a very calm color and looks more classic to some people.

The watch has a case diameter of 40mm, it is about 10mm thick, a very ideal size and thickness for such a dress watch. The case has a very classic design and the narrow bezel makes the dial look large, a wide round dial is a common feature of this type of dress watches. Two ends of the bracelet are perfectly integrated with the case, which looks seamless. The case side has a beautiful streamlined arc shape, together with the slightly curved lugs, to ensure a very comfortable fit for your wrist. Slender second hand is sweeping across the wide dial smoothly, you can not feel the “stop” or “tick” on the top of the hand. Square date window with silver frame has a black font in white background, the date is easily catchable. Printing “SEA-GULL” looks official, while the “Automatic” below has a more elegant font.

The bracelet feels very comfortable, the edge of the bracelet is smoothly polished with no sharp corners, the five-link bracelet looks more stylish. By the way, the sapphire crystal has a very important feature, it was added with anti-reflective coating so the dial still has a very high readability even under the sun light.
