Cronusart X-Series Voyager Double Movements

I never thought this is a timepiece when I see it on Cronusart website, it looks more like a mens accessory, combined with its vintage bronze tone, it seems more suited for an antique market, not here. I do not why Cronusart make this watch, because most of the watches they made are those tonneau-shaped models that are similar to Richard Mille, and the carbon watches that look like Rolex Daytona, but this watch looks like a piece of metal and does not seem to match their usual style.

This is one of the best sellers on their site, I can not understand, why people will pay a lot of money over $1000 USD on such a watch, a case like this just is not comfortable to wear.

Is there a selling point on this watch? I do not think so, in other people’s eyes, the design of the double movements is cool, but it looks very common to me. There are just two separate dials to display the times in two different zones, one time in local and the other in home, it is just the GMT function of the watch, what kind of people will need a GMT watch? Generally speaking, the business travel men, but they won’t buy this watch as their travel partner. So, on this watch, the other extra movement is just useless, it is just my opinion.

Another failing is that this watch lacks a story behind it, the watch is not cheap, however it is more expensive than most other Chinese watches, but it just looks like a piece of cold metal for me, there is no attractive story behind it, well, the brand may consider to create a story for the watch as a marketing strategy.

Conclusion

I won’t spend over $1000 USD for this watch, at this cost, I can buy four high quality timepieces in Chinese watch market.

Maxviton Sub Homage

Today, I will introduce another watch from China, it is a new brand watch I just found on Taobao, I thought I have reviewed all brand watches from China on my blog, but every time when I browsing on taobao, I will see some new faces. This is my first time to introduce Maxviton here, and this brand has been in the watch industry for many years, but not many reviews about it on the internet. Today I will show you a watch from them, it is like a Submariner homage.

Maxviton is a brand registered by somebody in Guangzhou of China, I also see some information about its registered address in the Switzerland when I checking its background, but it is absolutely a Chinese watch, not Swiss watch, every timepiece from them is assembled in Guangzhou and then dispatched.

This Maxviton looks like the black Submariner in case shape and dial designs, but the company made some changes on the dial, the biggest one is there is an extra week window next to the date window at 3 o’clock. Different from the other micro homage watches that caught my attention by how close they are made to the original watches, this Maxviton has another big selling point that is advertised by the brand as suitable to wear while taking a sauna or a hot shower, this is amazing if they are telling you the truth, because every time when I buy a watch, the seller tell me to take the watch off before taking a hot bath.

I think this black Maxviton watch will not have a problem when you wear it in a sauna room, after all it is claimed to be 300m waterproof by the company, but I still do not suggest you wear it every time when you do a hot shower. By the way, the watch is equipped with a Miyota 8200 automatic movement made in Japan, it has a nice, solid weight to it in the hand.
